- Aging Apple II monitors have become a problem for many users, and
alternatives are being sought. While some users have reported finding
serviceable monitors at places like Goodwill and at garage sales, Jim
Maricondo has confirmed that the XRGB-2plus, a true upscan converter
allows the GS to output it's signal to IBM-style VGA monitors. The unit
lists for $239.99 - more information can be found at
http://gear.ign.com/objects/481/481401.html

- Printing woes has struck the staff of Juiced.GS with international and
West Coast subscribers receiving some issues that have had upside down
pages. Publisher Eric Shepherd reported that the printer has investigated
the problem and appears to have corrected the situation. Anyone who has
received a faulty issue should contact the publication for a
replacement. Contact information can be found at the magazine's
website: http://www.juiced.gs

- The Seattle Times newspaper recently announced the death of the
originator of the "shareware" software distribution concept. Mr. Bob
Wallace who passed away from natural causes, was the 9th employee ever
hired by the then-fledgling Microsoft Corp. In talking with the press,
his widow dispelled one long-standing rumor that the Corp. was named after
Mr. Wallace's cat - that in fact it was the other way around. The Apple
II world owes a debt of gratitude to Mr. Wallace for his pioneering work
in the microcomputing industry,

- Rich Dreher has begun to take names for a second run of his highly
acclaimed CompactFlash interface cards. For more information about the
